We are excited to welcome Janine to our newly opened Whakatū studio.

Janine's journey into landscape architecture began with her studies in horticulture at Lincoln University. She spent 2 ½ years collaborating with architects on a large residential project, developing a landscape garden that sparked her curiosity about the relationship between built form and landscape. Her travels further deepened this interest, and a visit to the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture studio in St. Ives, Cornwall, inspired her to pursue landscape architecture.

Janine graduated from RMIT Melbourne in 1993, having also spent two years as a visiting scholar at the University of Minnesota, USA. She then had the unique opportunity to work for three years in the office of renowned landscape architect Dan Kiley in Vermont.

For the past 22 years, Janine has called Nelson home, where she lives with her two children. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and spending time with her horses.

We are thrilled to have Janine join our team and look forward to the wealth of experience and passion she will bring to our Whakatū studio.
