RMM Staff Christmas Adventure: A Memorable End to the Year

As the year drew to a close, the RMM team celebrated with an unforgettable end-of-year function that embodied our spirit of adventure and camaraderie. Our Christmas adventure was filled with excitement, breathtaking landscapes, and shared experiences that will be cherished for years to come.
Day 1: Thrills and Tranquility at Flock Hill Station
Our epic journey began with a thrilling surprise jet boat ride up the stunning Waimakariri River. The rush of the river and the stunning views set the tone for an exciting day ahead. After disembarking, we embarked on a short walk to a couple of waiting 4WD vehicles that whisked us away to the picturesque Flock Hill Station, nestled in the heart of the Canterbury high country.
At Flock Hill, we engaged in a lively game of 'Kumara,' a team-building exercise that kept us entertained and competitive for at least two hours. The game was a fantastic way to bond with colleagues and enjoy some lighthearted fun in the midst of nature's beauty.
As the day turned to evening, we were treated to an incredible dinner that showcased local flavors and culinary expertise. The feast was a highlight, offering a chance to relax, reflect, and enjoy each other's company. The night concluded with a few drinks and songs around a brazier, creating a warm and festive atmosphere under the starry sky.
Day 2: Exploring and Enjoying Local Delights
The adventure continued into the second day with a hearty breakfast that prepared us for more activities. We tried our hand at clay bird shooting, testing our aim and enjoying the thrill of the sport in a stunning rural setting.
Afterward, we took a scenic walk around Flock Hill Station, exploring the landscapes where the iconic 'Great Battle' scenes from "The Chronicles of Narnia" were filmed. The connection to a film such as 'Narnia' added a sense of fantasy to our adventure, making the experience even more enjoyable.
Our journey concluded with a stop at The Famous Sheffield Pie Shop, where we indulged in their renowned pies for lunch. It was the perfect end to an incredible two-day adventure, bringing us back to the comforts of delicious food.
