Lorien Kaack joined RMM Landscape Architects' Wānaka studio in 2024, bringing a fresh perspective and a passion for creating beautiful, functional outdoor spaces. Her journey in landscape design began with a Certificate in Horticulture Landscape Design from the Southern Institute of Technology, which she completed in 2021. She launched her career in Queenstown in early 2022, quickly developing a reputation for her innovative and practical planting designs.

Lorien has a deep-seated interest in creating designs that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also well-suited to the unique climatic challenges of the Otago region. Her background in horticulture has given her a comprehensive understanding of the diverse requirements of the area, allowing her to create tailored solutions that thrive in local conditions. This expertise ensures that her designs are both sustainable and resilient, capable of withstanding the region's distinct environmental conditions.

In addition to her planting design skills, Lorien is adept at transforming project ideas into photorealistic 3D renderings. Her proficiency in creating high-quality visualizations helps clients to see and understand the potential of their projects, ensuring that their visions are brought to life with precision and clarity.

Lorien's ability to combine practical horticultural knowledge with advanced design techniques makes her a valuable asset to the RMM team. She is dedicated to delivering exceptional results for a wide range of projects, from residential gardens to large-scale public spaces.

Outside of her professional work, Lorien is an avid adventurer. She enjoys paragliding over the Southern Alps, providing her with a unique perspective on the landscapes she designs. Her love for mountain activities and the natural environment continually inspires her work, driving her to create outdoor spaces that harmonize with their surroundings.

Lorien's blend of practical experience, technical skills, and passion for landscape design positions her as a dynamic and creative force within the RMM Wānaka team.
