Divya Bishnoi brings a wealth of international experience and a fresh perspective to RMM Landscape Architects. Originally from Scotland, she completed her Landscape Architecture studies at Edinburgh University, where she developed a strong foundation in design principles and techniques. In November 2023, after six years of living and working in Aotearoa, Divya joined the RMM Auckland team.

Divya's professional journey includes experience in both smaller design offices and larger multidisciplinary firms, allowing her to work on a diverse range of projects throughout New Zealand. Her expertise lies predominantly within the public urban realm, where she has contributed to the design and development of streetscapes, waterfronts, plazas, community spaces, social housing projects, master planning, parks, and open spaces. Her versatile background equips her with a unique ability to approach projects from multiple angles, ensuring comprehensive and innovative design solutions.

Passionate about creating high-quality, inclusive spaces for people, Divya places a strong emphasis on the integration of Te ao Māori principles in her designs. She is also an advocate for sustainable urban development, particularly through the concept of 'sponge cities' which focus on flood-proofing urban areas by enhancing their ability to absorb and manage rainwater. Her commitment to sustainability and cultural inclusivity ensures that her designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally responsible and socially conscious.

Outside of her professional life, Divya is an avid explorer who enjoys the natural beauty of New Zealand through hiking and visits to local vineyards. She also values her time spent with friends on weekend getaways. When she seeks a moment of stillness, Divya expresses her creativity through travel sketching and painting murals, activities that allow her to connect with her surroundings and capture the essence of her experiences.
