Courtney Prebble

Graduate Landscape Architect
BLA (Hons)
Ōtautahi Christchurch
Courtney Prebble joined RMM Landscape Architects in February 2025 after completing her studies in Landscape Architecture at Lincoln University. During her studies, she gained practical experience at a local plant nursery, assisting senior landscape architects with residential design work. She worked closely with clients throughout the entire design process, from concept to completion, developing valuable plant and design knowledge.
Growing up in Christchurch in a family with a strong horticultural background, Courtney developed a deep appreciation for the natural environment. Her exposure to diverse landscapes from an early age fostered her passion for protecting and enhancing them through thoughtful design.
For her final-year university project, Courtney focused on transforming Lake Ruataniwha in Twizel into an international rowing destination. Her design addressed seasonal population shifts, wellness, and recreation while celebrating Twizel’s unique character. This project showcased her creativity, innovation, and ability to solve complex design challenges.
Throughout her academic journey, Courtney has pushed herself to think outside the box, designing innovative and sustainable solutions that balance human needs with environmental considerations. She approaches design with enthusiasm and a commitment to uncovering the many layers and stories within the landscape. As part of the collaborative RMM studio environment, she looks forward to applying these skills across a diverse range of projects.
Outside of work, Courtney enjoys exploring Aotearoa’s landscapes, drawing inspiration from nature for her designs. She is also an avid sports enthusiast and can often be found rowing at Kerrs Reach or shooting hoops at the local basketball courts. Her involvement in team sports has strengthened her collaborative skills, making her a valuable team player in both her personal and professional life.
Courtney’s practical experience, academic background, and fresh design perspective make her a valuable addition to the RMM team. We look forward to seeing her contributions to future projects.
