Aachna joined the RMM Auckland team in June 2022 after recently completing her Master of Landscape Architecture at Unitec.
Through her studies, she has worked with landscapes which are threated from the effects of climate change. Her final BLA project and her MLA project both explore the impacts of natural hazards on the environment and the community.
Aachna demonstrates through her projects, the importance of prioritising the natural landscape and protecting it, prior to developing it. As a personal challenge, her projects were community led, leading her to proactively work with communities to understand their needs and apply them to the projects, hence connecting the community to the whenua. She is excited to continue her learning journey and gain experience with the RMM team.
In her spare time, Aachna enjoys photography, along with travelling to places in Aotearoa. She loves to spend time on her family farm in Fiji when she gets a chance. Alternatively, she loves to draw and challenge herself to learn new skills.
